REPUBLIC OF CONGO AMBASSADOR TO UGANDA ADDRESSES MEMBERS OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR

H.E Guy Nestor Itou, Ambassador of the Republic of Congo to Uganda on a working visit to the Country from the 15th- 18th November today 16th-11-2018 met and addressed members of the Ugandan Business Community and Uganda Manufacturers Association at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters. The purpose of the visit is to reactivate the bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. Ambassador Itou was welcomed by the Director of Protocol and Public Diplomacy Ambassador Charles Sentongo who hailed the meeting as a historical opportunity in  in line with H.E the Presidents vision of promoting Commercial and Economic Diplomacy, enhancing regional integration and intra-Africa trade with a view of economic transformation of the two countries.
In his address to the participants  Ambassador  Itou highlighted the investment potential in the Republic of Congo and informed the participants to take advantage of opportunities in the oil and gas sector, mines, minerals, agric and agro business.

Members of the Uganda Private sector engaged in an interactive discussion with the visiting Ambassador and were informed of the steps to follow for successfully investing and accessing the wider market and opportunities in his country.

Ugandan Tour Operators at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2019, 15th-April 2019

Today, the 11th April 2019,  the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) officials, led by Ms. Lilly Ajarova (UTB CEO), including Ms. Edith Kateme Kasajja (UTB Board Member), Ms. Dorcas Namajja (UTB Marketing Officer), and Mr. Daniel Irunga (UTB Marketing Officer), led a group of  Ugandan Tour Operators to the World Travel Market (WTM) 2019 in Cape Town - South Africa.

UGANDA AND KENYA HOLD 1ST JOINT PERMANENT COMMISSION , 21ST -25TH MARCH 2019 NAIROBI, 22nd-March 2019

Today witnessed a momentous occasion  in which Uganda and Kenya held the first session of the Joint Permanent Commission in Nairobi - Kenya. The Agreement establishing the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) was signed on 16th  November 1993, which is approximately 26 years ago. 

STATEMENT ON THE ALLEGED CLOSURE OF THE UGANDA BORDER WITH RWANDA, 14th-March 2019

Uganda wishes to refute allegations that it closed its borders with Rwanda. Since 28th February 2019 when the Government of Rwanda issued an advisory against travel of its nationals to Uganda, flow of traffic from Uganda to Rwanda has been continuing normally as detailed below
