MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS) MEETS AUSTRALIA'S HIGH COMMISSIONER TO UGANDA 14TH NOVEMBER 2018

Hon. Okello Oryem Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs) held discussions with the High Commissioner of Australia to Uganda H.E Alison Charter. The High commissioner was in the country to discuss further enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. 

The High Commissioner was on a fact finding mission to explore further investment opportunities for Australian companies in the sectors of mineral extractives, renewable energy, technology services and equipment.

The High Commissioner offered her condolences to the country over the Bududa land slide victims and the recent fire at a school in Rakai where 11 students lost their lives. The school was since 2007 been partly funded by an Australian company named Cotton on as part of the company’s global corporate social responsibility.

Hon. Oryem informed the visiting High Commissioner of the climate change global challenges that are also affecting Uganda, and observed that the Government is taking necessary steps to address the problem in Bududa by relocating the families in the area.

UGANADA HANDS OVER 70 EX-23 COMBATANTS TO DRC, 27th-February 2019

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on behalf of Government of the Republic of Uganda on 26th Febuary 2019, facilitated the repatriation of over 70 EX-23 Combatants  and 10 dependants to  the Government of the Republic of the Democratic of Congo. The Ceremony took place at Entebbe International Airport.
