UGANDA AND THE REPUBLIC OF CONGO EXPLORE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES .

Amb. Patrick  MUGOYA, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of  Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda and a delegation of Government Officials & Ugandan businessmen met with Hon. Adelaide Yvonne MOUGANY the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Congo at the Ministry headquarters in Brazzaville.


The purpose of this meeting was to explore the various investment opportunities in which both Uganda and the Republic of Congo can engage in with the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector to strengthen productive capacity, trade and investment.


In her opening remarks, Hon. Adelaide Yvonne welcomed Amb. Mugoya and the Ugandan delegation to the Republic of Congo, noting that the Meeting would afford the Delegation an opportunity to explore avenues of Investment.


The Hon. Minister further expressed  optimizim that this Meeting is a sign of goodwill between both the Republic of Congo and Uganda and was positive that outcome will be for the mutual benefit of both countries.


Amb. Mugoya conveyed a message of gratitude and  thanked the Minister for the warm reception that was accorded to him and the entire delegation from Uganda. He further noted that this will  deepen bilateral Trade relations through enhanced engagement at the technical and political and diplomatic levels.


The Permanet Secretary and leader of the Delegation further emphasised that the SME sub-sector has the  potential to make a significant contribution to employment creation and ultimately boosting economies.


The Meeting deliberated on issues in regard to the different  Tax regimes in effect by both countries as well as the various Investment opportunities and incentives that can be explored for the mutual benefit of the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Congo
