UGANDA ELECTED CHAIR OF THE AFRICAN GROUP OF PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVES AT THE UNITED NATIONS (UN)

H.E. Adonia AYEBARE, the Permanent Representative  of the Republic of  Uganda to the United Nations (UN) was on 12 / 9 / 2019 elected  Chair of the esteemed Africa Group of Permanent  Representatives to the United Nations, for the month of September 2019 which also marks the beginning of the 74th Session of the General Assembly.


This election comes at a time when Africa takes over the Presidency of the UN General Assembly, with H.E Prof.Tijjani Muhammed Bande  Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as President of General Assembly.


H.E.  Adonia takes over from  H.E Mr. Omer Mohamed Ahmed Siddig, the Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations and pledges to continue the efforts started, and carried out by his predecessors with utmost determination, devotion  and dedication.


Amb. Ayebare also  hopes to utilise  the Office of the Chair of the Africa Group to further strengthen and encourage the continued cordial relations in the African Group in the United Nations to be able to drive the agenda of the *"Africa we want"* and in achievin
