US Ambassador Malac Bids Farewell to Hon Kutesa

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sam Kutesa today 27th November 2019 met with Ambassador Deborah R. Malac, the outgoing Ambassador of the United States of America, who paid a courtesy call on the Minister. 

The Ambassador appreciated the cordial working relationship that has existed between the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and assured that the Embassy under the new leadership will continue to work with the Ministry to further cooperation between the two countries especially in the areas of Health through the HIV prevention and treatment programme, Agriculture through its feed the future programme that aims to strengthen the farmers’ production capacities and agro-processing abilities, Peace and Security in the Greats Lakes Region and the Horn of Africa among many others. 

The Embassy, she reiterated, will continue to mobilize American investors to take opportunities in Uganda’s infrastructural development and other investment opportunities.
The Minister on his part appreciated the good work that the Ambassador and the Embassy have done to support Uganda in the sectors highlighted, through its constituent agencies such as USAID and CDC among others. He wished the Ambassador well in her post-retirement life from public service and beyond. He assured her that the Ministry will continue to extend support to the incoming Ambassador in the discharge of her duties.
