Uganda And South Africa To Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Today morning, Hon. Gen. Abubaker Jeje ODONGO, Minister of Foreign Affairs received and held discussions with the South African High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E Lulama M. T Xingwana at the Ministry headquarters in Kampala.  

Hon Odongo underscored the strong and historic relations that bind the two countries together, noting that Uganda and South Africa share the struggle for liberation. The Minister further remarked that this friendship was formally cemented by the establishment of the Joint Commission of Cooperation in 2012.

High Commissioner Xingwana on her part congratulated Hon Odongo upon his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and noted that he has the right experience needed to steer the existing bilateral relations to greater heights.

H.E Xingwana hailed the warm and cordial relations that the two countries enjoy and further called for increased cooperation in the areas of Tourism, Trade, Defence Transport, and Works.
