Uganda and Norway Commit to Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Uganda, H.E. Elin Østebø JOHANSEN, earlier today paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gen. Abubaker Jeje ODONGO at the Ministry Headquarters.

Hon. Odongo commended Norway's solidarity with Uganda in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Norway supported Uganda's Vaccine acquisition efforts through the COVAX arrangement. 

The Minister further called on Norway and other members of TROIKA and the UN Security Council to continue supporting Regional Peace initiatives including the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan.

Ambassador Johansen emphasized Norway's commitment to continue cooperating with Uganda not only in supporting Regional Peace and Security initiatives but in many other areas of mutual interest including skills development especially the promotion of University Student Exchange programs
