The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, received and held discussions with H.E. Anne Kristin Hermansen, the Ambassador of Norway to Uganda at Ministry headquarters. The meeting aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between Uganda and Norway and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation. H.E. Anne, in her remarks informed the Hon. Minister that as a Government, they are restructuring their Embassies and Missions and so some Embassies have been affected including Uganda which will be closed in July, 2024 however she reaffirmed to the Minister that the cooperation between Uganda and Norway is strong and thus will continue the development cooperation in private sector and trade. Hon. Gen. Odongo expressed his appreciation for the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Uganda and Norway and emphasized the importance of regular high-level engagements to deepen the ties and foster collaboration on various fronts, including political, economic, and social development. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further strengthen the existing ties between Uganda and Norway
