The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gen. Abubaker Jeje ODONGO met with H.E, Maria Hakansson, Ambassador of Sweden to Uganda at the Ministry Headquarters. The meeting aimed to strengthen the bilateral relations between Uganda and Sweden and explore areas of mutual cooperation. During the meeting, Hon. Odongo expressed his gratitude for the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Uganda and Sweden. He highlighted the importance of maintaining regular high-level engagements to foster closer ties and enhance collaboration on various fronts, including political, economic, and cultural spheres. H.E, Maria reaffirmed Sweden's commitment to deepening the bilateral relationship with Uganda. She informed the Minister that Sweden has planned a 5year cooperation development plan to Support Uganda in the area of private sector and trade . The two principals signed an M.O.U to enable on a reciprocal basis the members of the family forming part of the house hold of a member of a diplomatic mission or consular post or mission to an international organization to engage in gainful occupation. The meeting concluded with a commitment from both sides to further strengthen the existing ties between Uganda and Sweden.
