UGANDA WELCOMES NEW COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE OF MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in Charger of Regional Cooperation, Hon. John Mulimba today received Letters of
Credence from Ms. Maria Gema, the new Country Representative of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to Uganda. The official ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala. During the meeting, Hon. Mulimba warmly welcomed Ms. Gema to Uganda and emphasized the importance of the long-standing partnership between Uganda and MSF. He reaffirmed Uganda’s unwavering commitment to working closely with international development partners, particularly in the social sector, to ensure the wellbeing of Ugandan citizens.


“Uganda deeply values its collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières, which has been instrumental in providing critical healthcare services in some of the most vulnerable regions of our country. As we continue to strengthen our healthcare systems, we look
forward to working with MSF to deliver even more impactful outcomes in the years ahead,” Hon. Mulimba remarked.

Ms. Maria Gema, in her remarks, expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and outlined MSF’s continued mission in Uganda. She pledged MSF’s commitment to support the healthcare needs of the country, particularly in emergency medical services,
maternal health, and response to disease outbreaks. We are honored to be part of Uganda's health journey. MSF remains committed to serving the communities most in need, ensuring access to essential medical services, and working in partnership with the Ugandan government to enhance healthcare delivery," said Ms. Gema.
