    UGANDA, KENYA AND SOUTH SUDAN HOLD 4 TH TRIPARTITE TECHNICAL BOUNDARY COMMITTEE MEETING IN KAMPALA

    The 4th Tripartite Technical Boundary Committee(TTBC) meeting comprising South Sudan, Kenya and Uganda was held from 17th -19th December 2024, at the Golden Tulip Hotel, in Kampala. The purpose of the meeting was to track the agreed positions of the tripartite meetings of December 2019, September 2021 and December,2021; Revise the work-plans and budget for the establishment of the tri-junction and to agree on the commencement date for the re-affirmation of the Tri-junction Point of the three countries.

    HON. ODONGO JEJE ABUBAKHAR DELIVERS STATEMENT TO THE AU PEACE AND SECURITY COUNCIL

    Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, this morning December 19, 2024 addressed a Virtual Ministerial Meeting of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union, on Somalia and Post ATMIS Security arrangements. Hon Odongo congratulated Somalia for three successive elections, achieving a credible Government and Leadership; underscoring the fact that they are about to join the UN Security Council. He saluted all the Troop and Police Contributing Countries and commended all partners for the support rendered to Somalia, AMISOM/ATMIS over the years.

    UGANDA AND AU LAUNCH OFFICIAL PREPARATIONS FOR JANUARY CAADP SUMMIT

    Minister of Foreign Affairs Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze and the AU Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (ARBE)of the African Union Commission, H.E. Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko, on December 19th 2024, launched official preparations for the the Extraordinary Summit of the African Union Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) set for January 9-11, 2025, in Kampala.

    INAUGURAL MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS UGANDA DIASPORA CONVENTION COMMENCES IN KAMPALA

    The inaugural Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diaspora Convention kicked off at the Commonwealth Speke Resort in Munyonyo. Running from 18 th to 19 th December 2024, the convention, themed “Mobilizing Uganda’s Diaspora for Socio-Economic Transformation,” drew hundreds of Ugandan nationals living abroad, government officials, business leaders, and development partners to discuss strategies for collaboration and investment.

    UGANDA AND UNESCO SIGN HOST COUNTRY AGREEMENT UPGRADING UNESCO PROJECT OFFICE STATUS TO ANTENNAE OFFICE

    Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar together with the Director UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for Eastern Africa, Ms. Haxthausen Louise this morning, signed a Host Country Agreement upgrading the UNESCO Office in Uganda, from its current status as a Project Office to an Antennae Office.
