Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, received copies of letters of credence from Ms. Lisa Chesney MBE, the High Commissioner-designate of the United Kingdom to Uganda. The ceremony took place at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Kampala. In his remarks, Hon. Gen. Odongo warmly welcomed High Commissioner Chesney to
Uganda, fondly referred to as the Pearl of Africa, and underscored the deep-rooted ties between Uganda and the United Kingdom.

At the invitation of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic, has commenced a three-day official visit to Uganda. During this visit, President Touadéra will participate in the 62nd Independence Day Anniversary celebrations in Busia, Uganda. Upon his arrival on October 8, 2024, President Touadéra was warmly received at State House, Entebbe, by President Museveni, accompanied by a delegation of Ministers and Senior Government Officials from the Central African Republic.
