PRESIDENT MUSEVENI HOLDS MEETING WITH UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR TO UGANDA

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today held a productive meeting with the United States of America (USA) Ambassador to Uganda, H.E William W. Popp at State House-Entebbe. The discussions centred around various critical matters, including the forthcoming population census, regional peace and stability, and socio- economic development. Recognizing the significance of the population census, the two leaders emphasised the importance of conducting a comprehensive and inclusive count that will provide crucial data for informed decision- making and effective governance.

His Excellency Mohammed Bin Khalil Faloudah, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uganda, officially presented copies of his letter of credentials to the Honorable John Mulimba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, in a ceremony held earlier today. During the presentation, Minister Mulimba warmly welcomed Ambassador Faloudah, highlighting the amicable relations between Uganda and Saudi Arabia.

Northern Corridor Partner States Agree on Joint Mobilization of Funds to Fast-Track SGR Project

MOMBASA, KENYA - The Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIP) partner states, comprising Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, have agreed to jointly mobilize funds to fast-track the development of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project. This decision was made during a meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee on SGR, held in Mombasa, Kenya on Thursday, May 3, 2024. The transport ministers reaffirmed their commitment to expediting the completion of the remaining SGR sections from Naivasha in Kenya to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, and DRC.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING ALGERIAN AMBASSADOR

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of Algeria to Uganda, H.E Mohamed Khelifi. The brief event took place at State House, Entebbe. President Museveni wished H.E Khelifi well in his future endeavours and expressed confidence that the strong foundation laid during his tenure will continue to guide and strengthen the bilateral ties between Uganda and Algeria. Ambassador Khelifi, in turn, expressed his gratitude to Uganda for the warm welcome and hospitality he received during his five-month tenure.

The 14th EAC Sectoral Council on Foreign Policy Coordination which kicked off on April 21st 2024 was successfully concluded on April 30th 2024 by a meeting of the EAC Council of Ministers at the Four Points by Sheraton in Dar-es-Salaam. Also on the program of work this session was the joint meeting of the 12 th Sectoral Councils on cooperation in Defence Affairs, Interstate Security and Foreign Policy Coordination. The Uganda delegation to the 14th EAC Sectoral Council on Foreign Policy Coordination included Hon. Oboth Oboth, Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Hon.

PRESIDENT MUSEVENI ATTENDS THE INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION SUMMIT IN NAIROBI

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this evening returned to Uganda after attending the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA)- Africa Heads of State summit held in Nairobi, Kenya. On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the President was received by the Vice President, H.E Jessica Alupo, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Ms. Lucy Nakyobe and serving officers. During today's summit session, President Museveni delivered insightful remarks, emphasising the importance of socio-economic transformation and the need for loans that propel prosperity.
