H. E. Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa the President of the Republic of South Africa will be in Uganda on a two-day State Visit from 15 th -16 th April, 2024 at the invitation of H.E. Gen(Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of South Africa

The Honorable Okello Oryem, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs/International Affairs, met with His Excellency Kevin Colgan, the Ambassador of Ireland to Uganda. During the diplomatic engagement Amb. Colgan formally announced the forthcoming visit by the Secretary-General, Mr. Joseph Hackett, of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Ireland, scheduled to take place from the 21st to the 25th of May 2024. Discussions centered on the itinerary and objectives of Mr.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Uganda, H.E Karin Boven, met with the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala. The two principles’ discussion centered on enhancing cooperation in the areas of agriculture through supporting the farmers in Uganda, Energy sector in Kiryandongo, implementation of the memorandum of understanding (M.O.U) on Defense and Repatriation and capacity building on issues of Immigration.

Hon. John Mulimba, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs/Regional Affairs, held a meeting with Korean Government Representative for the Korea-Africa Summit 2024, Mr.Jung Kihong at the Ministry of Foreign affairs. The meeting focused on the preparations for the upcoming summit, which will be held in Seoul, South Korea, in June 2024. The summit aims to strengthen the partnership between Korea and African Countries in various areas, including trade, investment, infrastructure, and development.

The esteemed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, hosted Her Excellency Signe Winding Alberg, Ambassador of Denmark to Uganda, at the Ministry’ of Foreign Affairs. During the cordial meeting, Ambassador Alberg conveyed to Permanent Secretary Bagiire Denmark’s forthcoming initiative to convene a gathering of African Foreign Ministers in Copenhagen.In elucidating Denmark’s strategic vision, Her Excellency emphasized the nation’s commitment to enhancing representation across the African continent.

Today, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Bagiire Vincent Waiswa, held a meeting with His Excellency Mehmet Fatih Ak, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Uganda. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala, served as a pivotal platform for fostering diplomatic relations and advancing mutual interests between the Republic of Uganda and the Republic of Türkiye.

Today, the Honorable Oryem Henry Okello, Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, had the honour of receiving copies of the letters of credence for His Excellency Miroslaw Gojdz, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Poland, to Uganda. The ceremony, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marked an auspicious moment in strengthening bilateral ties between Uganda and Poland.

H.E. Ambassador Nelson Ocheger, Uganda’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, held a meeting with Hon. Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The meeting took place at the Minister’s office in Abuja. The two hailed the cordial bilateral relations that exist between Uganda and Nigeria, dating back to pre-Independence years. They underscored the need to scale up this relationship by increasing interactions in business, trade, investment, tourism and knowledge sharing.
