Minister of Foreign Affairs Odongo Jeje Abubakhar had a bilateral meeting with Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr. Daren Tang on the sidelines of the UNCTAD 60^th Anniversary Commemoration at the United Nations in Geneva. Kampala, June 5, 2024 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, today hosted Mr. Ghazi Ktab, Director of the Africa Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala. This meeting marks the first consultative dialogue between Uganda and Iraq, aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and exploring avenues for mutual cooperation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda is pleased to announce that Dr. Madou Diallo, the Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Mali, has presented copies of his letters of credence to the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, General (Rtd) Odongo Jeje Abubakhar. The formal ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, held a productive meeting with H.E. Brig. Gen. Jules Ndihokubwayo, the Ambassador of Burundi, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala. This meeting underscored the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. Hon. Gen. Odongo highlighted the strong and historically significant relations between Uganda and Burundi, emphasizing the shared cultural and social bonds that unite the two nations.

In accordance with the existing Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Uganda concerning Loans from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund, signed on April 13, 2012, the Ugandan Minister of Finance Hon. Matia Kasaija, together with the Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Cho Tae-yul, have, today 5th June 2024, signed the Framework Agreement for a $500m loan from Korea EXIM Bank.
